Afternoon Rec
When scheduling permits, the counselors should plan afternoon activities which include as many of the resort children as possible. The smaller children are usually napping during this time, so the focus should be on the older children.
In good weather, watersports or pool games will be the most popular. However, the counselors should be creative and should vary the afternoon activities as much as possible. Example: an hour of tennis or soccer (or any other group activity) after lunch can be a good substitute for the usual beach and pool routine.
In bad weather, if the pool and/or beach are closed, the counselors should gather the children for games and activities as needed.
